The best-selling Xbox 360 game of all-time just got bigger, with more epic multiplayer content, first on Xbox LIVE! The Stimulus Package delivers 5 additional action-packed multiplayer maps featuring a variety of locations: "Bailout," a multi-level apartment complex; "Storm," an open industrial park littered with heavy machinery; "Salvage," a snowy junkyard fortified by stacked debris and crushed cars. Two legendary fan-favorites from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare return, including "Crash," [pictured above] a war-torn urban environment; and "Overgrown," which features a massive dry creek bed. There are no refunds for this item. For more information, see www.xbox.com/live/accounts.

Its going to cost $15! Thats bull!

They have made plenty of money off this game already. I guess we should have seen this coming because they were upping the cost of the pc version from 50 to $60. For Christ sake, two of the maps are just from CoD4, its not like they did much work with this. Infinity Ward is just screwing people all over, first the presidents are fired, next they are denying royalties to the workers where it is in their contracts that they would get paid based on how well the game sold, and now they are charging an unheard of $15 for 3 new maps and 2 old ones for the best selling video game. This is just sickening and that was the last straw for me.

Wow that is a huge rip-off. I used to like Activision and hate EA, but the tables are starting to turn. If it is $15 I will not be buying it.

Capping off a fairly terrible fortnight of news surrounding Call of Duty developers Infinity Ward comes word this morning that Modern Warfare 2's map pack is one of the most over-priced pieces of downloadable content we've ever seen. Popping onto Xbox Live spokesman Larry Hryb's podcast to promote Modern Warfare 2's upcoming "Stimulus Package" map pack (which is launching first on Microsoft's console), Infinity Ward's Robert bowling revealed that the five maps - two of which are old maps being re-released for this game - will cost 1200 Microsoft Points.
Or, $15.
For five multiplayer maps.
Fifteen. Dollars. Or, if you're so inclined, £10, €14, or AUD$19.
Hoo boy.

Vid of the new maps.
New Maps
And I've been reading a lot of the bitch fests over the price point of the DLC. 1) We're getting early access as XBL users. and 2) I say we all play this game enough to support a $15 investment. At $15 you're getting 50% of the maps that came installed on the disc, and Halo did charge at one point $10 for 3 Maps. Maybe it should have been 2 packs. But I'll take the discount in the bundle.

Well the dlc price is mainly due to the data size presumably. Valve was allowed to put up a free dlc that was sponsored by Microsoft but when Crash Course was released it came at a cost to the users. This was in fact because server space that would be required to host the content.
